On August 21st, 2017 at approximately 10:19 a.m., the moon will pass in front of the sun casting the small Central Oregon town of Madras into complete darkness for over two minutes.
Labeled "The Great American Eclipse" and "The National Eclipse, the worlds greatest natural phenomenon will be the first coast-to-coast total solar eclipse in America since 1918.  Entering Oregon and exiting in South Carolina, most of the Continental United States will be able to partially see the 2017 eclipse.   However, to fully experience total darkness  you must be within a 67 mile band of the shadow.

The difference between seeing the eclipse from within this band and outside of it is truly "Night & Day"

Join us at the center line of Totality in Madras, Oregon and experience the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse.
From glamping, heli tours, hot air balloon rides, entertainment, food and beverage, adventure, science, kids fun, and  of course a natural phenomenon.... we have the adventure for you! BUY YOUR TICKETS HERE!

Bring your tents, trailers, vans to set-up together in our own fancy fun camp and glamp with us in style!  We will have a couple shade structures up, one for group dining, and one for the Boomerang bar for us all to share together!

We will have our own swanky fun glamorous camp at: Solartown Campground

Camping at Solartown places you on the CENTERLINE of Totality in the middle of the beautiful high desert of Central Oregon.   A mere two miles north of Madras, you will witness the Cascade Range in all of its grandeur.

Solartown will feature a diverse variety of food and beverage as well as the absolute best view of the Eclipse and its shadow as it races down the face of the volcanic peaks.  Solartown offers a quiet place to wait for the eclipse and will serve as a shuttle stop for those wanting to experience the festival or events around Madras.

Everyone buys their own tickets from the Oregon Solarfest Website the Glamp-O-Rama organizer will get there on the first day to secure us a sweet spot. People can set up their camp anywhere they want, but it's way more fun to be together. THERE IS NO FEE TO CAMP WITH THE Glamp-O-Rama Group.

It is mostly tent camping, including van, trailer and they do have hook-ups for RV’s for an extra charge.  All camping spots are on a first come first find basis. Please let the Glamp-O-Rama Organizer, Tré Taylor know what date and time you are arriving so she can save you a spot in our Glamp-O-Rama camp area.

We will caravan from San Francisco leaving early on Wednesday, August 16th staying in Ashland, OR that night. (Ashland location tbd) and arriving Solartown, Madras, OR, Thursday, August 17th.

If you would like to be part of the caravan, call the Glamp-O-Rama Organizer Tré Taylor's cell/text at 510-658-JAZZ (5299) for meet-up location.

The first total solar eclipse touching the continental United States since 1979 touches down on the Oregon coast between Lincoln City and Newport at 10:15 a.m. PDT. Before Oregon, the shadow of the Moon (umbra) does not touch any other landmass or island before Oregon.

Two major viewing parties are being organized in Oregon. The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) has announced a viewing event at the state fairgrounds in Salem, see www.omsi.edu/eclipse-2017 for details. Another event, the Oregon SOLARFEST is being held in Madras, Oregon. See www.oregonsolarfest.com for information.
